5 ideas to keep kids entertained while traveling

Whether you're traveling by car or plane, traveling with little ones can be stressful. Keeping them confined for long hours presents a challenge, but with the right activities, you can make traveling fun!

Try these five simple travel activities next time you venture away with your children.

Melissa & Doug Reusable Sticker Pad

Melissa & Doug Reusable Sticker Pads come in a wide variety of themes, so you're sure to find one to match your children's interests. They're like stickers, but instead of being affixed permanently, you can easily pull them off without leaving a sticky residue. This makes them perfect for traveling!

Let your kids stick them to the car or airplane window to create a scene straight from their imagination. They can also decorate the scenes that come in the pad. Since the stickers are reusable, your kids will get a whole lot of playing time with this activity.

Spot It

Spot It will help improve your children's observational skills while keeping them entertained during your long plane or car ride. To play the game, your children will compare two cards to find similar objects, each trying to find the matching object before the other player(s).

We love Spot It because it's the perfect size for traveling and comes in a handy tin container. Since you can play the game with as little as two players, it's an easy one to play while traveling.

Wikki Stix

Wikki Stix have a wide range of products that you can take on your next adventure. They are basically pieces of yarn coated in wax that your children can bend and manipulate to bring their imagination to life in 2D or 3D.

We love Wikki Stix because it stimulates both the creative and logical sides of your children's brains. Plus they're mess-free and very portable.

If you have preschoolers like we do, try their cards. They'll help your little one to practice forming letters, shapes, and numbers.

Melissa & Doug Water Wow

Melissa & Doug Water Wow pads are absolutely the best! Just fill up the pen with water, then let your children "color" the pages in the pad. The colors and details of each page will appear when the water brushes across the page.

After your children have completed their Water Wow masterpieces, let them dry to erase the scene and then your kids can "color" them again!

If your children prefer activities to coloring, Water Wow also has pads with mazes, numbers, letters, and other activities.

Take 'N Play Anywhere Bingo

Take 'N Play Anywhere Bingo makes this classic game travel friendly. The game comes in a tin container with magnetic bingo pieces. No more losing game pieces! Even with airplane turbulence or on a bumpy car ride, the pieces will stay put on the tin board.
